Auto Trader unveils ‘accessible’ careers website

Auto Trader, the UK’s largest digital automotive marketplace, has launched a new accessible careers website to attract the best digital talent.

The new site was designed by magneticNorth, the independent digital design studio headed up by entrepreneur Lou Cordwell, in a bid to make jobs at Auto Trader more accessible for talent of all backgrounds.

Manchester-headquartered Auto Trader has transformed the car sales industry over the last 40 years and today attracts an average of 60 million visits to its marketplace each month.

“We wanted to open up the accessibility of the site not only because this reflects our inclusive company culture but also because we wholeheartedly believe that a diverse workforce creates better products,” said Jane Fitzmaurice, resourcing partner from Auto Trader.

She added: “We have some of the most exciting and inspiring opportunities. Our new career site will provide an improved candidate experience and the chance for individuals to get an insight into our working life so they can make the right choice for them.”

Ian Wareing, senior account manager at magneticNorth, said: “Striving for an intuitive, accessible design seems like a no-brainer but it’s something that a lot of career sites ignore.

“With much of Manchester and the UK fighting over tech talent, this site helps open up Auto Trader’s job roles to a wider pool of applicants, also giving light to the company culture of one of the UK’s most exciting tech companies.”

Auto Trader will be monitoring the results of their new design and will release information on the new site’s impact in spring 2018.
