Bet365 announces 100 new jobs after rapid Manchester growth

The world’s biggest online bookies Bet365 has announced it will create almost 100 new positions in its Manchester satellite office.

Based in Stoke, the firm will expand the operation from 60 to more than 150 staff, recruiting at all levels  including junior and senior developers, team leads, tech leads and project managers.

The office at Spring Garden opened in April last year, and head of systems development Warren Hughes said all initial positions were filled much quicker than anticipated.

He told Prolific North: “Manchester’s deep talent pool has enabled us to keep the bar high and attract a fine calibre of developer.
“We’ve been impressed by how quickly the new office has become productive.

“The team has established a solid working relationship with our developers in Stoke and their close collaboration has successfully delivered significant pieces of work including our new HTML5 desktop website.”

Hughes added that the technical challenges offered working with Bet365 are helping the firm attract top talent – and said the company will also begin to broaden its development network across the city.

This will enable developers to cross train in new technologies including programming languages such as Erlang, Elixir and Go.
