Crowdcube expands into US with new partnership

Crowdcube is partnering with American equity crowdfunding platform SeedInvest in a move to give UK investors access to US companies.

The collaboration is said to be the first time a UK crowdfunding platform has partnered up with an American counterpart in this way.

Keen Home will be the first American company on SeedInvest that Crowdcube’s 400,000 members will have access to.

The business develops proactive hardware and software products designed to protect and enhance a home’s core systems. Keen Home’s ‘Smart Vent System’ controls a home’s heating and cooling airflow on a room-by-room level, which results in improved comfort and efficiency.

“America is home to some of the world’s most exciting start-up and growth-stage companies and through this unique partnership with SeedInvest, the investment opportunities for investors on Crowdcube are more diverse than ever before,” Crowdcube co-founder and chief executive Darren Westlake said.

Ryan Feit, co-founder of SeedInvest, added: “As an industry crowdfunding is all about breaking down borders – for instance SeedInvest has taken the lead in opening up investment opportunities in startups to many more people than was previously the case.

“It makes sense that the fast-growing companies on SeedInvest’s platform should be able to reach out beyond America for funding as they grow their businesses and build their brands.

“We’re delighted to be helping Keen Home access crowd investment from the UK with the help of Crowdcube, our fellow-pioneers in equity crowdfunding.”
