Manchester start-up Degree 53 has launched a new gaming division that will create more than 20 new jobs in the city.

Founded in 2013, Degree 53 is a digital agency that specialises in design, mobile app and website development for the gambling and betting industries.

The new Degree 53 gaming division will focus on providing technology and design services exclusively to online gambling companies.

The North West company currently employs 45 people and has worked with the likes of Betfred and Totesport.

“The gambling industry has always been one of our core sectors,” Andrew Daniels, managing director of Degree 53, said.

“This is why we’ve decided to create a new gaming division and recruit more talented team members.”

Coinciding with a new website launch, the initiative is part of Degree 53’s growth plan that will see the company recruiting a number of technical and creative roles to support the expansion.

Daniels continued: “Over the past year, the work has become increasingly specialised and we feel the time is right to separate that service from the main agency.

“We’re looking to fill a number of technical and creative roles that will help us drive this expansion and the new division.

“This way, we’ll be able to scale our services and gaming proposition in the future.”
