The head of broadband internet provider KCOM’s Hull and East Yorkshire business is leaving to pursue another opportunity.

The London Stock Exchange-listed group said a process to find a successor for Gary Young, the executive vice president responsible for Hull and East Yorkshire, is underway.

Young, who has led the business for the past six years, will remain in his role while an “orderly handover” of his responsibilities takes place.

Bill Halbert, chief executive of KCOM, said: “I would like personally to thank Gary Young for his significant contribution to our group.

“I’ve worked closely with Gary over the past six years, a period in which he has led successfully our Hull and East Yorkshire business and overseen our successful deployment of fibre broadband.”

Alongside news of Young’s departure, KCOM has also issued a trading update for the financial year ending 31 March 2018.

The company said its overall earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) performance is slightly ahead of expectations for the 12-month period, while revenue performance is slightly behind.
