Manchester-based global security software company Avecto bolstered its executive team with two key appointments.

Robin Saitz has joined as chief marketing officer (CMO) and Andrew Avanessian has taken up the position of chief operating officer (COO) at the company, which enjoyed record results in its latest financial year.

Saitz, who has a proven track record of building high-performance teams and brands, was previously CMO at sales enablement software company Brainshark and senior vice president of global marketing and operations at PTC, where she spent 25 years.

Avanessian has been promoted from vice president of technology to the role of COO. In his new role, he will be responsible for key operations in the company, leading Avecto’s international pre- and post-sales teams as well as the company’s customer success, support and IT department.

Avecto co-founder and co-CEO Paul Kenyon said the appointments come at an important time in the company’s journey.

“The pace of growth we’ve experienced has been phenomenal and these key, strategic appointments will ensure that momentum continues,” he said.

Robin Saitz said: “Preventing security breaches is a number one priority for CIOs/CISOs, CEOs, and board members. Privileged access management is fundamental to helping business achieve this goal, whether for compliance reasons or to protect company data.

“With Avecto, companies can accomplish a least privilege environment very easily and I’m excited to help the company build on its prior successes to grow as the definitive leader in this space.”

Andrew Avanessian added: “Although the size and scope of the business has changed dramatically since I joined, its culture of ambition and innovation has remained. I have seen the company grow from strength to strength and I’m excited to extend my remit to further optimise our operations.”

Last month, Avecto revealed it had enjoyed its ninth year of consecutive revenue growth since it was established in 2008. Revenue for the firm exceeded £23.5 million, representing growth of 51 per cent on the previous year.

Last year the firm was recognised as one of the UK’s ‘Best Small Companies to Work For’ by The Sunday Times and earlier this year Avecto was named one of the ‘Companies Inspiring Britain’ by the London Stock Exchange Group.

The business operates from offices in Manchester; Boston, USA; and Frankfurt, Germany.
