Key hire at gas safety tech firm

Technology

Gas Tag has appointed a new executive to help grow the business, which is revolutionising the gas safety industry with new technology.

Neil Thompson has an extensive background working in the construction, supply chain compliance and safety industry.

He joins the Liverpool-headquartered company from Capita, where he previously held sales and marketing director positions within its supplier assessment services business.

Gas Tag describes itself as the first real-time proactive approach to gas safety. It stops illegal gas fitters, provides genuine contractors and engineers with time-saving tools, landlords with KPI-driven compliance monitoring and tenants with peace of mind.

The tag has been developed to ensure that the correct work is carried out on gas appliances at the appropriate time, by qualified engineers.

Once installed on a gas inlet, Gas Tag is able to track all of the property’s gas appliances, services and installations. The information is then easily viewable on an app which is free to download.

Neil Thompson said: “Gas Tag is a business with massive potential and it is an exciting time for me to join the company.”

Paul Durose, co-founder and CEO of Gas Tag, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Neil on board. He brings with him a wealth of both sales and marketing talents. He will be a great addition to our team.”
