Leading video platform announces new COO and FO

A developer and seller of cloud video platform technology Blackbird has announced the appointment of a new COO and financial officer.

Stephen White will join the board of Forbidden Technologies in the newly combined role on 2 April 2019 after completing his notice period.

London-based company’s Blackbird video technology is used by the ITV, Chanel 4, the Olympics, and UK eSports platform GFinity.

The move, first announced in October 2018 sees White move from his position as ‘vice president finance, UK and EMEA emerging markets’ at Comcast’s NBC Universal’s Networks Division.

He has previously held senior finance roles with media companies including BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company.

Jonathan Lees, the Company’s current Finance Director, will step down from the Board on 2 April 2019, leaving the Company to pursue other opportunities after an appropriate handover period.

In January $4bn connected exercise bike platform Peloton announced that it will use the ‘Blackbird’ platform.
