Leeds Digital Festival sponsor brings 'new experiences'
Leeds Digital Festival 2018 sponsor VST Enterprises is set to display its scannable VCodes around the city in the lead up to the 12-day event.
Easily scanned from over 100 metres away (even if you’re on the move), VCodes will be displayed on posters, billboards and digital screens.
Doing so via the VCode app on Apple or Android devices will open up information on the events and companies taking part in the festival, including a digital copy of the festival guide, so visitors can enjoy their experience and stay up-to-date with the latest announcements from their favourite digital innovators.
"This year, Leeds Digital Festival is set to be the biggest and greatest showcasing of the region's tech talent to date – and we’re proud to show our support and celebrate the immense innovation coming from the North," said Louis-James Davis, CEO and founder of Manchester-based VST Enterprises.
"Attendees will unlock additional information on their favourite technologies, including the latest promotions and announcements, helping them get the most from their time at the festival."
VCode has been described as the next generation of scanning technology. It delivers tailored information to each user with the convenience and speed required to get content quickly and easily.
Unlike predecessors, including open-source QR codes, VCode is a secure, closed-loop system that does not store personal information in the cloud and reveals only pre-set information depending on the user, their location and permissions.
Stuart Clarke, Leeds Digital Festival director, said: "We're really excited to have VST Enterprises come on board this year. Festival-goers are in for a more engaging digital experience than ever before thanks to the VCode app – we’re looking forward to offering visitors a better way to interact with everything going on in Leeds during the 12-day festival."
Alongside Leeds City Council and the University of Leeds, VST Enterprises is showing what the North has to offer by promoting and supporting more than 150 events taking place throughout the city.
