The Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing (IDM) has chosen Pearson VUE, the global leader in computer-based testing, to transform its marketing certification exams from pen and paper to digital.

For 30 years, IDM has been on a mission to provide best-in-class training, qualifications, events, resources and membership services to meet the real-world needs of today’s digital, direct and data marketers.

As part of the agreement to help move IDM’s certification to CBT, Pearson VUE will also deliver the exams via its network of more than 5,000 highly secure centres in 180 countries around the world.

CBT delivery means that candidates have the convenience of booking exams on-demand either online or on the phone.

“We chose Pearson VUE to transform our exams because of the professional and highly secure assessment environment they offer our candidates all around the world,” said IDM managing director Jane Cave.

“This will also allow us to offer our students the convenience of typing over pen and paper, as well as making exams available across the globe through their network of assessment facilities.”

Pearson VUE vice president EMEA Matthew Poyiadgi said: “I am delighted that, through this new agreement with IDM, we can improve the lives and careers of marketing professionals around the world.

“This certification program gives digital marketers bigger opportunities to prove their abilities and remain current in a very sophisticated and dynamic specialist sector.”

The IDM offers a portfolio of professional and post graduate level qualifications aimed at marketers, with exams taking place three times a year.
