An award-winning software developer in the Midlands has appointed a new MD as part of its plans to hit £5m turnover in the next five years.

Nigel Bates will take up his position at Evolve-IT Consulting on 1st May 2018.

Previously led by founder and CEO Leanne Bonner-Cooke and chief technology officer Colette Wyatt, the Leicestershire company plans to reach its target with a bigger, broader management team.

Bonner-Cooke has also appointed Matthew Broadbent as finance director and Neil Malpas as non-executive director.

Evolve have enjoyed consistent year-on-year growth since the launch of the business in 2007, witnessing just one dip in 2016 as the company invested in its software product lines.

“I’m delighted to welcome Nigel to the team and confident that he will lead the business into its next phase of major growth,” Bonner-Cooke said.

“His passion for technology along with his people and customer focus are critically important to the Evolve culture.

“The team and I are looking forward to welcoming him into the business alongside Matthew and Neil as part of our new management team.”

Specialising in the construction, manufacturing, retail and pharmaceutical industries, Evolve has clients throughout the UK and overseas including Tarmac, Mondelez International, Seddon and MSD.

Its bespoke software solutions are integrated into businesses to digitize and improve processes, increase efficiencies and reduce wasted time and costs.

The decision to grow the Evolve Management team has been one that Bonner-Cooke has been planning since the end of 2017.

“I wanted to bring in new blood to Evolve, but having run the business myself with the support of my team for over ten years, I knew that handing over the reins would be a test for me personally,” she said.

“I am relieved to say I can’t think of a better group of people to shoulder Evolve with besides Nigel, Neil and Matthew.”
