Artificial Intelligence is one of the most attractive technologies for millennial investors, according to a new study.

The nationwide research, commissioned The UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA), asked 1,200 investors about their sentiment towards new technology trends.

Drone technology made the top of the list, with 42 per cent of respondents saying they though the flying were gadgets were important.

This was closely followed by AI, which has caught the attention of 40 per cent investors.

“The research reflects the huge range of innovative technologies, products and services being developed here in the UK; and demonstrates a strong capacity for scale and market disruption,” said Jenny Tooth, CEO of the UKBAA.

“UKBAA is delighted to continually recognise and highlight the success stories of the fantastic entrepreneurs in these sectors, as well as the contribution made by their investors who bring such vital finance and support.”

Less than half of those interested in AI considered blockchain an important technology, with 17 per cent of respondents selecting the technology in the survey.

Business angels in the UK collectively invest an estimated £1.5 billion per annum and are therefore the UK’s largest source of investment for startups and early-stage businesses seeking to grow.
