Music Magpie has appointed Manchester agency R O EYE to help attract more customers through social media channels.

The online retailer, which buys and sells old DVDs, electronics and CDs, currently uses Facebook and has made tentative steps with Instagram.

It hopes the deal with attract more customers, and help engage with specific parts of its 3.5m current users based in online communities such as vinyl fans or iPhone devotees.

Since being launched in 2014, R O EYE has worked with HMV, Jessops, HSS, Auto Trader and Coral bookmakers.

Music Magpie marketing manager Dale Goodwin said: “Selling via social is another key route to market for us.

“Our product range is diverse and R.O.EYE’s technology gives us a granular view of customers so we can be relevant and timely with notifications and offers.

“We see this personalised approach having a very positive impact on sales.”
