If you're developing or pioneering technology to deliver a positive social impact and make the world a better place then we want to hear from you for our upcoming list.

The search is on to find the UK's 51 Tech for Good Stars.

From a social media management platform which raises awareness about good causes to artificial intelligence technology designed to reduce A&E waiting times, there's no shortage of businesses using technology to make a difference.

What is 'tech for good' and do I qualify?

It’s certainly a question that’s asked a lot and there isn't always a black and white answer – so we’ve had to narrow it down.

Although many technology firms, including the likes of Microsoft and Facebook, have used technology to do good, we’re looking for businesses or non-profits who are 100 per cent focused on social impact and were set up to tackle a specific issue in society.

Companies who have developed their own technology or software will be prioritised – but we are still keen to hear from those who’ve put existing tech to innovative good use.

Send in your nominations now – deadline for entry is July 31st 2018.

BusinessCloud editor Chris Maguire said: “There’s been an incredible amount of growth in the ‘tech for good’ movement which is why BusinessCloud has decided to recognise the individuals and companies who are using tech to make the world a better place.

“If you’re using technology – whether it’s an app or an AI algorithm – to make a positive impact in society then we want to hear from you.”
