Storify, the digital publishing tool which allows users to create stories using social media, is shutting down.

The company has announced that the platform will no longer be available after May 16th, 2018.

Existing customers can continue to use the service until that date but, as of December 12th, 2017, no new accounts can be created.

“While product end-of-life is a part of the overall product life cycle, we understand that this could impact you and are committed to making the transition as smooth as possible,” Storify said in a statement.

“We would like to thank you again for your loyal support of Storify and apologise for any inconvenience these changes may cause.”

Storify was launched in 2010 and has been open to the public since April 2011.

The platform became a go-to tool for journalists, allowing them to embed user-generated social media content into their online stories.
