Tech North strengthens advisory board with new appointment

Tech North has appointed Atom Bank’s chief marketing officer Lisa Wood to its advisory board.

With 23 years of experience in financial services, Lisa Wood will work provide Tech North with a “fresh marketing perspective on a heavily tech-based board” as the organisation continues to support the region’s digital sector.

Tech North was set up by government-backed Tech City UK and is focused on attracting and developing talent, entrepreneurship and investment in the North.

“I’m delighted to be using my marketing expertise to help support Tech North’s objectives and look forward to playing a small part in building a thriving tech sector across the North of England,” Wood said.

“It’s critical for Atom that we’re nurturing the right skills and talent in the region and it’s great to be able to make a contribution to this.”

“Since Atom was founded in 2014 we’ve had an incredible journey and now want to contribute and play a bigger role in the North tech scene.”

Wood will join director of Tech North Richard Gregory and executive chair Herb Kim on the board, along with other members including Hugh Campbell from GP Bullhound, Lee Perkins from Metronet and David Richards from Wandisco.

Herb Kim said: “I’m incredibly happy to have Lisa Wood join the Tech North Advisory Board. One of the main objectives for Tech North is to raise the awareness of the Northern tech sector and its companies.

“We couldn’t have found a stronger adviser to help here than Lisa. It’s a real benefit for us to have a representative of one of the North’s most important tech start-ups joining us on our journey.”
