The UK team of an international AR and VR company is celebrating its success after a major tech award win.

Based in The Sharp Project in Manchester, the UK office of Eon Reality was awarded the ‘AR & VR Futureproof’ award at Tech XLR8, the European anchor event for London Tech Week.

The company, which has offices across the globe, beat competition from Nokia, Lampix and other large household brands.

“I am unbelievably proud of the whole team in Manchester,” said Mark Bridgeman, global COO and managing director of EON Reality.

“This is a real coup for the Manchester studio team and for the immersive technology industry in the UK. It demonstrates exactly that: we are futureproof.”

EON Reality;s ‘Virtual Trainer’ product is a multi-user VR software product which enables globally connected, centralised online training across industries, particularly where the real-life training can be dangerous or expensive.

The software is regularly used in the mining, energy, engineering, manufacturing, aviation and logistics industries around the world.

EON Reality’s nomination was noted for clearly demonstrating innovation, positive partnerships with businesses across the world, and evidencing how VR facilitates the safe practice of complex procedures in a variety of Learning and Development categories.

“We are growing right now, and as such we’re hiring,” Bridgeman added.

“EON Reality welcomes a truly global and collaborative workforce, and naturally, this is also an opportunity to push local talent in the business and further help promote the UK’s future-forward, enterprise digital agenda to the world.”
