Vodafone launches recruitment drive for career break women

Vodafone has launched a programme to recruit women who have taken a career break.

The ‘ReConnect’ six-month programme will seek to reintegrate women into the workplace after a break of one to five years, such as to raise a family or run a business.

It aims to recruit 1,000 women into the programme across 26 countries in the next three years, on a full-time or flexible basis.

The UK positions will be in London or Newbury, Berkshire. Areas they are recruiting for include technology, commercial, HR, finance, legal, external affairs, customer operations and business intelligence & analytics.

“Companies often struggle to recruit and retain women in management and leadership roles,” said Vittorio Colao, Vodafone Group chief executive.

“Innovations such as our global maternity policy and now our new ReConnect programme can make a real difference to women who work for us today and who will work for us in the future.”
