Privacy Policy

We collect certain information or data about you when you use the BusinessCloud website. This includes:

  • * questions, queries or feedback you leave, including your email address if you send an email to news@businesscloud.co.uk;
  • * your IP address, and details of which version of web browser you used;
  • * information on how you use the site, using cookies, to help us improve the website; and
  • * details to allow you to access BusinessCloud events/ other services (you will always be told when this information is being collected and it will only be used for the purpose you provide it for).

This helps us to:

  • * respond to any feedback you send us, if you have asked us to
  • * improve the site by monitoring how you use it
  • * provide you with our newsletter, magazine, information about our services, event sponsorship opportunities and/or BusinessCloud events if you want it.

This Policy sets forth our policy with respect to information that can be associated with or which relates to a person and/or could be used to identify a person ("Personal Data") that is collected from users of the site. "Non-Personal Data" as used in this Policy is therefore any information that does not relate to a person and/or cannot be used to identify a person. We take the privacy of your Personal Data seriously. Because of that, we have created this Privacy Policy.

When you interact with the site, we may also collect Non-Personal Data. The limitations and requirements in this Policy on our collection, use, disclosure, transfer and storage/retention of Personal Data do not apply to Non-Personal Data.

Where your data is stored

We store your data on our secure servers in the UK.

Where it is in accordance with your marketing preferences, we may use your personal data to contact you in the future for our marketing purposes, including to inform you about services or additional events and/or event sponsorship opportunities we believe might be of interest to you.

Keeping your data secure

Transmitting information over the internet is generally not completely secure, and we can't guarantee the security of your data. Any data you transmit is at your own risk. We have procedures and security features in place to try and keep your data secure once we receive it.

Disclosing your information

We may pass on your personal information if we have a legal obligation to do so, or if we have to enforce our terms and conditions.

If you attend an event, and have given prior consent on the event registration accordingly or shared your business card at the event, your name, email address and company name would be passed to the relevant event sponsor.

We do not sell or pass any personal information to any third party (save for that mentioned in the paragraph above) unless you have given us permission to do so.

How long do we keep your information for?

To make sure we meet our legal data protection and privacy obligations, we only hold on to your information for as long as we actually need it for the purposes we acquired it for in the first place.

In most cases, this means we will keep your information for as long as you continue to subscribe to our newsletter, magazine or attend out events, and for a reasonable period of time afterwards if you stop doing so, to see if we can persuade you to come back to us. After that we will delete it other than where we lawfully can keep any data for audit or legal reasons.

We shall keep data on our event database for not longer than 2 years from the date someone last attended an event subject to an individual's right to unsubscribe or be forgotten at any time.

BusinessCloud reserves the right to amend or modify this Privacy Policy statement at any time and in response to changes in applicable data protection and privacy legislation.

Monitoring and or recording of all your Communications

Monitoring or recording of your calls, emails and other communications may take place in accordance with English law, and in particular for business purposes, such as for quality control and training, to prevent unauthorised use of websites, to ensure effective systems operation and in order to prevent or detect crime.

Your rights

To update your marketing preferences or unsubcribe from the magazine, newsletter or events email at any time, please email unsubscribe@businesscloud.co.uk and quote your name, company details (if relevant) and email address in the body of the email and tell us what you want us to do (i.e. 'opt-out Email', or if you have previously objected to receiving information by post for example, but would now like to change your mind and receive the hard copy magazine rather than email newsletter then just specify your preference in the subject header of your email).

You can write to us at any time to obtain details of the personal information we may hold about you and ask us not to use any of the information we collect.
