Few people have done more to shape the direction of Manchester than Sir Howard Bernstein.
Sir Howard, who joined Manchester City Council as a junior clerk in 1971, has been chief executive since 1998 and retires in the spring of 2017.
In the first of a series of ‘Property hotseat’ interview events between BusinessCloud and new developer Watch This Space, Sir Howard will be interviewed about his remarkable career by award-winning journalist Chris Maguire.
He has played a pivotal role in the resurgence of Manchester since the 1996 IRA bombing and his time at the top has coincided with flagship developments including Spinningfields, NOMA, First Street and Airport City.
He was also instrumental in bringing the 2002 Commonwealth Games to Manchester.
They’ll be joined by one of the hottest names in Manchester’s property scene, Will Lewis.
Known for his enviable contacts book and straight-talking, Lewis has turned OBI Property into the one of the city’s most respected and successful names since launching the business in 2010.
