Leeds is riding the crest of a digital wave, but how can it win the tech race?

With 1,350 digital companies employing 10,000 people, the city is already a heavyweight in the UK's tech landscape but the competition has never been hotter.

The Leeds Digital Festival has become the largest digital festival in the North, while the success of the tech incubator at Bruntwood's Platform building underlines the sector's credentials.

In the fast-changing world of tech there's no room for complacency. While HS2 arrives in Leeds in 2033, it rolls into Birmingham seven years earlier.

While Leeds has rejected the idea of an elected mayor, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, has outlined his vision to make the region the UK's tech leader.

One of the common challenges for the entire sector is recruitment and Leeds is no exception, with more than half of digital companies in the region reporting a problem. Is clustering the solution and, if it is, how can the city support the sector?

BusinessCloud has joined forces with leading property company Bruntwood for our breakfast event - 'How Leeds can win the tech race – and will hear from some of the leading lights in the city's digital industry.
