AI-powered hearing aid makes TIME's 100 Best Inventions
A hearing device which includes AI and sensor tech is among 100 creations to be listed in TIME magazine’s ‘100 Best Inventions of 2019’
Starkey Hearing Technologies’ ‘Livio AI’ is claimed to be the world's first multi-purpose hearing aid, and has been listed in the accessibility category.
The firm’s device and was launched into the UK market earlier this year.
Starkey manufactures and distributes hearing technology for the UK and European markets, including Livio AI, from their HQ in Stockport, Greater Manchester.
Livio AI features integrated sensors and artificial intelligence allowing it to track both body and brain health.
It includes features such as integrated translation into 27 languages, voice-to-text transcription, and media streaming from other devices.
It also provides direct monitoring of physical and cognitive activity, including fall alerts and transcription features.
