‘Alexa, how much is my house worth?’

A new Amazon Alexa feature has been introduced by estate agency Hunters which allows property owners to ask how much their property is worth.

After answering a few basic questions, users of the new tool will hear an estimated valuation of their home, provided via information from Zoopla’s Hometrack service.

The new feature has been unveiled as part of the estate agent network’s new strategy to invest in technology.

“Technological services will continue to play a crucial role in the industry going forward and Hunters has established itself as one of the innovators in that field,” said Hunters new COO Dan Rafferty.

“The launch of the Hunters Alexa application is further evidence of that, and we expect it to be well received not only by existing customers but also people who may choose to engage with it out of intrigue.”

The Alexa service has been developed by Hunters in collaboration with Leeds based company Webanywhere.

“The inception of virtual assistance in the property market is transforming the way people interact with their homes and, in this case, with the initial selling or letting process.

“We’re really excited to be an industry first and are looking forward to creating a bit of a buzz around this creative new tool.”
