Online electricals retailer AO has launched a new business to business division, appointing Mark Armstrong, previously of Electrolux, as its new head of sales for the housebuilders sector.

Reporting to AO Business MD Anthony Sant, Armstrong’s appointment signals AO’s serious intent to disrupt the B2B market with an offer based on its 20 years’ experience of selling electricals to the public.

Armstrong joins the firm with more than 26 years’ experience in the industry. At Electrolux Armstrong was Channel Head for Housebuilders, responsible for growing the businesses market share within new home builders to 70 per cent and managing all distribution networks for its UK business.

“We’re thrilled that Mark is joining us on our mission to transform the way that businesses buy electricals,” said AO Business MD, Anthony Sant.

“AO has always disrupted sectors that it enters, not least when it changes the face of the white goods industry twenty years ago.

“With Mark on board, we are now perfectly placed to go full steam ahead with our plan to offer the B2B sector a new way of buying electricals. All of our research tells us that the AO way of doing things will be hugely welcomed in this market.”

Armstrong said he was delighted to be joining the company.

“After years of working in this industry, I know what business clients need and AO is uniquely placed to fulfil this.

“The opportunity for AO to transform the way business clients are served is huge.

“I look forward to being able to offer my clients the products they need, at a great price with the bonus of best in class customer service.”
