Online fashion retailer ASOS and FinTech firm Klarna are to expand their partnership to the US.

The firms began working together in 2016, offering ASOS customers more finance options when purchasing clothes from its website.

“At ASOS we want to give our customers choice in everything we do whether that is in the broad range of ASOS Design and branded products, smooth and fast delivery options or payment options,” said Eve Williams, brand experience director at ASOS.

“We know these are all important to our customers – the addition of Klarna as a payment method in the US will help provide the best customer experience for our US customers.”

Through Klarna, customers can choose either to pay with four equal payments collected bi-weekly or in 30 days with no interest or fees.

“Extending the ASOS partnership into the US speaks to Klarna’s global reputation among both its brand partners and customers,” said Michael Rouse, CCO of Klarna.

“Customers in both the US and UK are now able to experiment and express themselves in the latest fashions with confidence.”

Klarna has been successful in Europe and the UK, and the expansion into the US market with these pre-existing merchant partners only exemplifies its success as a leader in the alternative payments space.
