A developer and provider of water saving technologies has announced a new non-executive chairman.

David Armfield, who joined board of Rotherham-based Xeros Technology Group in June 2018, has been appointed interim non-executive chairman following the resignation of John Samuel.

“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank John for his considerable contribution as chairman since the business listed in March 2014,” said Armfield.

“As he steps down in order to devote more time to his other executive and non-executive board roles – we wish him well for the future.

“I would also like to welcome David to the board who brings with him a huge amount of experience in growth companies, both private and public.”

The group offers tech which allows hospitality, leisure & commercial laundry sectors to reduce their consumption of water by up to 80 per cent through new hardware and polymer beads.

Separately David Baynes, a director of IP Group plc, joins the board of the AIM-listed company as a non-executive director.

Bayes is a chartered accountant and will chair the audit committee.

He previously held positions including co-founder and the CEO of AIM-listed Fusion IP, CFO of Codemasters Limited, the then largest privately-owned games company in the UK, and co-founder, CEO and CFO of Toad, now ‘21st Century Technology plc’.

In 2017, the firm signed a development agreement with a commercial washing machine manufacturer.
