UK crowdfunding platform Crowdcube has announces its 1,000th successful raise, with scale-up and later-stage entrepreneurs attracting funds in record numbers.

In the last 12 months tech firms including carwow, JustPark, Curve and Freetrade have raised at least £5m each via the platform, which allows anyone to invest in the future of the company.

Monzo's £20m fundraise in December 2018 was backed by over 36,000 people.

Internationally, Crowdcube said nine of the top 10 largest equity crowdfunding raises in Spain, including ID Finance, have been raised with Crowdcube, with 50 per cent of these funding in 2019.

This year is also set to be a record for revenue, the firm said, and will also see a record number of investments and member sign-ups.

Since 2011, more than £800m has been invested through the platform.
