Data capture specialist WorkMobile has appointed a new business development manager to bolster its expansion plans.

Thomas Walley will play a key role in helping the Manchester-based company to expand its services across new sectors and drive the business forward.

WorkMobile’s mobile data capture app allows staff working out in the field to capture data on PCs and mobile devices in real-time, providing an alternative to paper forms. All the information is then stored securely in the cloud.

In his new role, Walley will be responsible for identifying and developing new sales opportunities within new and existing sectors and building long term relationships with new clients to improve brand recognition and increase market reach.

For the last six years, Walley has been the sales and account manager at MRC Print Consultancy, prior to which he worked as an assistant quantity surveyor at J & S Seddon, and as a commercial manager at Laing O’Rourke and AMOS Developments, where he managed various building projects worth between £25,000 and £60m.

“Having spent a large part of my career involved in the world of sales and business development, the role at WorkMobile seemed like the perfect fit,” he said.

“I’m extremely excited to be joining this ambitious team and look forward to helping the business grow and exceed its targets.”

WorkMobile chief executive Andrew Huntly added: “Thomas is an excellent addition to our senior team and his wealth of experience and expertise will be vital in helping us to drive growth.

“Our aim over the next year is to expand our product offering into new business areas that will benefit from our solution. We feel that almost every business sector has a use for a solution that saves time and money, whilst promoting compliance and minimising risk.”
