Manchester-based digital collective Inc & Co has entered the charity and sports sectors with the acquisition of Wood for Trees and Insight Analysis.

Data specialist Wood for Trees works with clients including British Red Cross, Barnardo’s and Dogs Trust to help identify the most valuable supporters through data tracking and by using insight tools to assess which fundraising activities generated the most income.

The acquisition comes as charities seek to diversify income streams following the impact felt across the sector during the global pandemic, which has seen traditional fundraising become less effective.

Insight Analysis, also based in Bath, offers data analysis to help elite athletes from the world of football, rugby, tennis and athletics improve their performance.

Inc & Co also recently acquired digital agencies Skylab, Brass, Neon and Cuhu, plus the on-demand dry-cleaning and laundry delivery platform Laundrapp, and data specialists MyLife Digital, taking the number of businesses in the collective from one to nine in just 12 months.

Jack Mason, Group CEO at Inc & Co, said: “As the economic fallout of COVID-19 continues to have a devastating impact on traditional fundraising channels, we are pleased to add Wood for Trees into the collective to support charities during this challenging year.

This addition represents our commitment to both the sector and our goal to help businesses thrive in these difficult times.

“Bringing Insight Analysis into the Inc & Co collective means that we can continue to offer a world-leading sports service package to customers like the LTA, The FA, The RFU, and British Sailing.

“I am particularly excited to see the synergy between Insight Analysis and our recently acquired digital sports agency Skylab, as they both possess specialist skillsets in sports.”

Jay Cromack, Managing Director, Wood for Trees, said: “We’re thrilled to be joining the Inc & Co collective and are excited by the breadth of skills and services available to help us develop our current offering.

Wood for Trees has a simple mission to help our clients raise more money for the amazing causes they support, and our new ownership will help build a better future.”

Mike Hughes, Director of Insight Analysis, said: “We are incredibly excited by the new ownership. The support of Inc & Co and the opportunity to learn from other like-minded digital businesses is only going to enhance our offering to our elite sport clients.”
