Equinix appoints former Uber exec as CTO

Connectivity provider Equinix has unveiled Justin Dustzadeh as its new chief technology officer.

Dustzadeh takes on responsibility for developing Equinix’s technology roadmap, supporting the company’s broader platform strategy and leading the technology and innovation function.

Dustzadeh joins Equinix following a stint with Uber, where he was Head of Global Network & Software Platforms.

In this role, he led the team responsible for the architecture design, engineering and operations of Uber’s global network infrastructure and software platforms.

Prior to working at Uber, Dustzadeh spearheaded the transformation of Visa’s global infrastructure and also held senior roles at Ericsson and AT&T.

Dustzadeh said: “I am very honored to join this world-class team and look forward to helping Equinix leverage the power of technology to extend its market leadership.

“Having architected and implemented scaled technology platforms for some of the world’s most mission-critical digital environments, I have huge appreciation for how well Equinix is positioned in the new connected economy.”
