World champion eSports gamers Pau Lara and Alex Alguacil are to represent FC Barcelona in the eFootball.Pro league.

The Pro Evolution Soccer stars will don the colours of the Blaugrana as the club participates in its first eSports tournament which begins on December 2nd.

Barcelona is one of three host cities, along with Glasgow and Monaco, for the PES2018 competition which culminates with a final in May.

The other clubs vying for a place in the final are French clubs Nantes and AS Monaco; German outfit Schalke 04; Scottish side Celtic; and Boavista of Portugal.

Lara (PaUUU24) is the only Spaniard to ever become world singles champion at Pro Evolution Soccer, while Alguacil (AlexAlguacil) was 2018 world COOP (3 vs 3) champion at PES and 2018 European PES singles champion.

The competition is being organised by Konami, a premium partner of FC Barcelona.
