The firm behind South African sales management app Skynamo has revealed its plans to expand in the UK following a $30m funding round.

The firm’s mobile-first app is designed for manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers with sales teams in the field visiting customers on a regular basis.

The app integrates with ERP and accounting software which is used in digitising paper-based processes, automating administrative tasks, and enabling access to customer and product information in the field.

It also uses GPS technology to allow for geographic tracking and mapping of performance data.

Founded in 2012 in Stellenbosch, South Africa, the firm has additional offices in Johannesburg and Durban, and the UK over which its 65 employees work.

Skynamo said it has over 650 companies on its books, of which the UK currently makes up 5% of the business.

Its CCO Brian Howe is based in the UK. The firm said its London base is currently manned by its head of international channel.

A spokesperson said the UK office “will get a lot bigger”, and a third of the firm’s new revenue growth will come from the UK in less than 12 months.
