Growth recognition for Leeds-based Answer Digital

Technology

Answer Digital has been named as one of the top 10 fastest-growing companies in public sector technology for its work in the NHS and healthcare sector.

The Leeds-based software development company, which also works with leading organisations in retail and finance, was highlighted by Public IO in its ‘State of the UK GovTech Market’ report, which chose its top 10 according to net assets.

It said: “Answer Digital Health exists to solve the burning questions surrounding the digital transformation of Health and Social Care, combining a deep understanding in how health organisations actually work with enterprise-scale digital expertise.”

The firm was founded as the Ultimate People Company by Gary and Kate Parlett in 1999 and quickly grew to a team of 16 and £1m+ turnover in its first year.

However the ‘dotcom bubble’ burst the following year, meaning they had to slowly build the company back up again, opening Answer Digital offices in Woking and Coventry in addition to its West Yorkshire HQ.

The firm says the 2008 financial crisis put the brakes on its growth ambitions, but following a 2009 rebrand to Answer Digital, it has steadily grown again.

It recently opened an office in London’s iconic Shard and is expecting a turnover of £4.5m this year, a 20 per cent increase year-on-year.

Gary Parlett said: “I’m more interested in the company’s values and reputation for growing talent and the impact that we can create for our clients, rather than just numbers.

“We have long since stopped projecting growth targets in anything other than the effectiveness of our customer propositions.

“We are now much more than just a bunch of great techies: the company is structured to attract ambitious sector expertise to lead in areas of health, finance and retail.”

The company has employed 15 new recruits this year.
