Investors plough $11.5m into crypto start-up
A US-based start-up behind an app which lets you manage your cryptocurrency portfolio has raised $11.5 million from a string of top investment funds.
Blockfolio began its journey in 2014 as the first major crypto portfolio-tracking app that delivers price information to enthusiasts.
Earlier this year it expanded on its vision by launching "Blockfolio Signal", a first-of-its-kind broadcast channel that connects token teams directly with millions of users.
The company has closed a Series A funding round led by Pantera Capital with participation from Bitmex and Huobi, two of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world.
"Our Series A financing will help us leverage our unparalleled reach to continue innovating as a global leader in the space," said CEO Edward Moncada.
"Most importantly, this investment empowers us to follow our belief that quality data and information should be easily accessible and that Blockfolio should be fully free to use for all."
Moncada also revealed that Blockfolio has appointed Paul Veradittakit of Pantera Capital to its board of directors.
"Paul's deep experience and relationships in the space combined with his shared vision for a "connected crypto ecosytem" made him the perfect fit to help build our company at the board level," Moncada added.
