LawBite app solving firms’ legal problems for less

Technology

The UK’s first real-time lawyer-to-client messaging app has been released on iOS and Android.

Online legal services firm LawBite has developed the communication tool for businesses to solve their legal problems with fully qualified lawyers on any commercial legal matter at any time.

They are able to instant message a lawyer dedicated to their business; receive same-business-day legal consultations with an expert lawyer for free; receive fixed-price no-obligation quotations for more in-depth work; pay for any legal advice or work required; review and download attachments, documents and contracts; and view lawyer expertise and experience.

Founder and chairman Clive Rich, a qualified barrister and professional negotiator, said: “Here at LawBite we want law to be ahead of technology rather than behind it, helping customers get effective expertise delivered with speed and simplicity.”

Whenever a new message is received, the app sends a push notification straight to the client’s device, enabling them to remain up to date with the latest development on their legal enquiry.

The app works in synchronisation with the LawBite website, which means that clients can keep track of enquiries entered via their desktop or tablet when they’re out on the move too, without the need to update multiple platforms.

LawBite was founded in 2011 and aims to shake up the legal industry by using technology to reduce costs and democratise the law for the UK’s SMEs.

The UK legal sector has been particularly resistant to technological change, with few advances that directly benefit the UK’s 5 million-strong SME community.

SME attitudes to the law as being expensive, slow and inaccessible remain correspondingly unaltered.

In the most recent YouGov survey at the end of 2016, only one in five respondents believed lawyers to be ‘accessible’, when questioned about their ease of communication and responsiveness.
