Digital marketing expert Jamie Watson has been confirmed as a speaker for BusinessCloud’s breakfast event on the future of Manchester’s hotel sector.

Watson is managing partner of Pixel8, an award-winning Manchester-based marketing agency, and will feature at the event at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel on Peter Street in Manchester on Thursday 13th October.

He has more than 10 years’ experience working within the hotel sector for some of the world’s biggest and fastest-growing hotel brands owned by groups such as Intercontinental Hotels Group, Carlson Rezidor and Hilton Worldwide.

The event, chaired by BusinessCloud editor and award-winning journalist Chris Maguire , runs from 7.30-10am and will discuss what the future of Manchester’s hotel sector looks like.

Last year saw the opening of Motel One, Hotel Gotham, King Street Townhouse, INNSIDE Manchester and Hotel Football while Hilton Hotels, EasyJet, Travelodge and The Topland Group have all announced plans of their own.

Hotels also form a key part of Allied London’s £1 billion St John’s masterplan and Gary Neville’s and Ryan Giggs’ St Michael’s development.

With record occupancy rates in the city, can Manchester’s booming visitor economy sustain even more hotels? And is the future niche or corporate?

Also confirmed to speak are Adam Munday, general manager of INNSIDE By Melia Manchester; Nick Brooks-Sykes, director of tourism at Marketing Manchester; Simon Beer, managing director of the EPIC Apart Hotel; Cameron McNeillie, general manager, Renaissance, Manchester; and Adrian Ellis, general manager, The Lowry Hotel.
