Michael Gibson, chair, Digital Lancashire
Michael began his digital journey in the last century when he launched Internet World magazine in London in 1999 and went on to launch a portfolio of magazines and exhibitions in the digital space before the company was sold to a US media group.
When he moved back to Lancaster he joined the founders at Fat Media as Managing Director and grew the company to become the biggest creative digital marketing agency in Lancashire and one of the biggest in the North, employing 86 staff.
After exiting the business, he established data science company Miralis Data with Dr Will Maden; became a shareholder and director of ecommerce company UK Bathroom Store; and is non-executive director at creative and digital marketing agency Hotfoot Design.
He was also one of the founding directors of the not-for-profit organisation Digital Lancashire. With funding from Lancashire County Council, it has made major steps in its aim of 'accelerating the digital economy in Lancashire'.
