Monzo appoints head of diversity and inclusion
UK FinTech Monzo has appointed Deloitte consultant Sheree Atcheson as its head of diversity and inclusion.
Atcheso will join the London firm on 4 November and will take the responsibility of shaping the HR policy for its employees, leaving her most recent role as Deloitte's UK inclusion lead.
She is also an ambassador at Women Who Code and is founder of I Am Lanka, which highlights the work of Sri Lanka's local global role models.
“I’ve dedicated my career to ensure everyone has opportunity to flourish in tech and I can’t wait to take this step with Monzo, who are truly disruptive in all they do,” she wrote on Twitter.
“The main thing that drew me to Monzo is their transparency.
“Inclusion requires transparency. It requires us to hold up a mirror and be very honest about where we’re at and where we want to go. Monzo is exciting for that and for how they are completely changing how people live their day to day lives.
“Does tech and FinTech have a lot of bias, stereotypes and issues? Yup. That’s why I’m here. I’m here to be open, push boundaries, force us to challenge all of our thinking and form a strategy which allows us to shift our culture for the better - for everyone.”
