Sabby Gill has left his role as Sage Managing Director UK & Ireland.

The North East accountancy tech firm said Gill, who joined the business two years ago, was leaving to take on a new role.

He will be replaced by Paul Struthers, who previously led Sage’s global Medium Segment team and before that was the Managing Director of the company’s Canadian business.

Struthers has more than 20 years of technology leadership experience at Sage, Amdocs and RSA and will be moving to the UK from his native Toronto as he joins the UK and Ireland team at the beginning of October.

“Sage has supported businesses with world class technology for nearly 40 years,” Chief Operating Officer Lee Perkins said.

“Now, more than ever, we have a responsibility to help small and medium sized businesses across the UK and Ireland with the right solutions and the right advice, to help the nation adjust to the new normal.

“Paul has a fantastic track record of helping our customers, colleagues and partners succeed. As we embark on our new financial year, I know he will help us on our mission to become a great SaaS company in our home market.”

He will oversee the company’s 2,000 staff in the UK and Ireland.

Struthers said: “Over the past couple of years, under Sabby’s leadership, the UK and Ireland business has gone from strength to strength. The team has attracted new customers, built strong and enduring subscription relationships with existing customers and made Sage a great place to work.

“As we move into a new era for our business, our technology and our industry, it’s a privilege to be a part of the journey.”

Sage is transitioning many of its customers over to SaaS cloud platforms.
