New finance chief at FTSE 100 software giant
Accountancy software company Sage Group has appointed an experienced finance veteran as its new chief financial officer
Jonathan Howell will officially take up his new role on 10 December 2018.
Howell brings significant experience as a public company CFO, having most recently been group finance director of Close Brothers Group for 10 years.
Prior to that, he was CFO of the London Stock Exchange Group. He has also been a non-executive director and chairman of the Audit and Risk Committee at Sage since 2013.
"He brings both considerable experience as a public company CFO as well as a strong understanding of the business," said Steve Hare, who became Sage's CEO last month.
"This, combined with our shared belief in the vision to become a great SaaS business for customers and colleagues alike makes him a great addition to the executive team."
Howell added: "I am excited to be joining Sage as CFO at this time in the group's continued transition to a SaaS business and I look forward to supporting the team as we sharpen the focus on customers, colleagues and innovation."
Hare was named as Sage's new chief executive in November following the surprise departure of former boss Stephen Kelly this summer.
