Paul Horrocks, former MEN editor-in-chief
Paul Horrocks was one of the longest-serving regional newspaper editors in the UK after 12 years as editor-in-chief of the Manchester Evening News.
He joined the MEN in 1975 from the Daily Mail and left in 2009 to set up communications consultancy.
He is a networker and speaker with many media, political and business contacts. A regular news reviewer for BBC Breakfast TV/radio and news industry pundit, he previously served on the Press Complaints Commission.
An ex-president of the UK Society of Editors, he is now chairman of the Regional Press Awards.
He is a partner in communication strategy company Essential Comms, based in Bury, Greater Manchester; and a partner in the Gordon Burns Partnership, a communications strategy and media training business.
