piCalculator innovators’ pride at DEA recognition

Technology

Recognition outside the legal professional was a great source of pride to a digital business which triumphed at last year’s DEAs.

Sheffield-based Rebmark Legal Solutions won the software innovation of the year award for their product piCalculator.

The business, set up by brother and sister Rebecca Andersen – a clinical negligence lawyer – and software developer Mark Hewitt has a portfolio of apps and software which helps those in the legal sector work more efficiently.

piCalculator builds a court-ready schedule of loss, a document that shows the value of claims.

It both speeds up the process of creating the schedule of loss and reduces the risk of calculation errors.

Emma Bohan, operations manager, says: “Following hot on the heels of our first award from the legal sector recognising the innovative nature of our product and the impact it is having in the market, there was a real sense of achievement amongst all of us that we had now been recognised by the digital sector, and not just the legal profession.”

Rebmark has grown its team and is set to launch new legal software services as well as a full company rebrand.

Irish sportswear manufacturer O’Neills has almost a hundred years of experience yet has used e-commerce to move up a level in recent years.

Younger businesses Digital Six , The Whisky Exchange, Mubaloo and PushON have kicked on since winning at the DEAs.

The DEAs are coming to Manchester’s Palace Hotel on November 9th.

The awards champion the country’s finest digital entrepreneurs and businesses and are now in their 12th year, with a total of 17 awards up for grabs.
