Appointments

UK property platform Zoopla is to hire an additional 50 staff for its Product & Technology team.

The company is hiring front and back end developers, product specialists, engineers and designers at the firm’s London office.

The latest hiring spree follows news in February that Zoopla had launched its first apprenticeship in Software Engineering, in conjunction with the Tech She Can Charter, with ten roles available.

The company recently completed the hiring process for these apprentices with 70% of the roles being awarded to female candidates.

Dave Wascha, Zoopla’s Chief Product & Technology Officer, said: “The new hires join a team already bolstered with senior leaders with experience from some of the UK’s most innovative companies who are having fun and working hard to meet Zoopla’s ambitious goal of revolutionising the property industry.

“We know it is a difficult time for the tech industry at the moment with many companies no longer recruiting. We want the tech community to know that we are very much open for business and that if you are ambitious, smart and obsessed with developing industry-changing products, Zoopla is the perfect place for you to call home.”

Founded in 2007, Zoopla returned to private ownership in July 2018 after a purchase by a group led by global private equity firm Silver Lake. Since the purchase a new leadership team has been implementing a focused strategy investing in talent, technology, marketing and sales to meet its growth plans.
