A fast-growing recruitment app which has raised millions of pounds in funding has now expanded with the opening of its sixth UK office.

Launched in November 2015, Syft offers an online staffing platform for the hospitality and events sectorcutting out the need for traditional agencies.

As of October 2017, Syft had raised £9 million in capital from investors including the likes of Creandum, PROfounders Capital, Colle Capital, David Haye and Lord Young.

The start-up has now opened a new office in Cardiff, which will trade alongside its existing sites in London, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Birmingham.

Syft hailed the opening of its new branch as “another milestone in a storied year for the company”.

The company added that Cardiff is an area which holds a “special importance” to Syft and its mission to improve conditions for employers and job seekers.

Prior to Syft’s launch in 2015, co-founder and CEO Jack Beaman pursued a political science course at Cardiff University.

During his studies, Beaman extensively undertook temporary work; he discovered a sector with low wages and limited opportunities for workers, plus high fees and a lack of control and choice for businesses.
