Sara Lawton is the founder of Construction Impact Framework (CIF).

CIF is a construction framework that provides public sector members with a one-stop-shop for construction works and services. A business with purpose, CIF is transforming lives through the power of social procurement.

Prior to her role within CIF Sara worked for over 25 years in the public-sector and has been awarded various accolades including Merseyside Woman of the year, Merseyside Community Woman of the Year, Female Innovator and Community Impact Business of the Year.

Sara commenced her career with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) where she worked for 17 years. During this time Sara worked on local, regional and national initiatives to reduce levels of unemployment whilst tackling the ‘skills-gap’. Sara left DWP to work within Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service (MFRS) where in addition to managing multiple operational Fire Stations she project managed Liverpool’s first Super Youth Zone.

The £6m Fire Fit Hub (based in the heart of Toxteth) provides young people from across the city with world class youth facilities. Sara led on all elements of the project from construction, to stakeholder engagement, to community impact and employment opportunities – it is a testimony to Sara that today the facility is still impacting on the lives of young people from across the city.

With 62 supply partners from across the construction industry, CIF’s values are no doubt influenced by Sara’s experience and her desire to make our communities safer, stronger, healthier and economically active.
