Search for best of South West tech begins

Technology

The South West is home to a wealth of tech businesses and BusinessCloud wants to celebrate them.

We’re compiling a list of the top 101 Bristol and South West tech businesses and we want to hear from you.

Is there a business doing amazing things with tech that you think needs a mention? Do you know of a tech business in the South West that should be celebrated?

The region has a wealth of expertise in the field, including Open Bionics, which creates bionic hands and arms from its base in Bristol. We want to shine a spotlight on the amazing work of tech businesses in the South West.

The 101 Bristol and South West tech 101 list is the fifth regional tech list published by BusinessCloud and follows in the footsteps of the Yorkshire and Humberside Tech 101; 101 Tech Midlands; 101 North East Tech; and North West Tech 301 lists.

Anyone can nominate a company for consideration in the list, which will be considered by our panel of experts. The key criteria is we’re looking for companies that are using tech in a disruptive way.

Evidence of turnover and workforce growth or investment can be included in any submission but the focus is on game-changing technology. The list will be published on our website and shared across our social media platforms.

BusinessCloud editor Chris Maguire said: “We published a list last year which was dominated by London-based tech firms and we received an angry tweet asking: ‘What about the South West?’ We listened to that and decided to produce a series of regional tech lists.

“I know Bristol well having previously lived in the city for nearly five years and I know the South West is a hotbed of tech. If you know of a company that is doing something amazing with tech please  nominate them.”

Nominations can be emailed to [email protected]. Closing  date for submissions is March 29th, 2019.
