Leeds start-up eviFile has launched a secure digital evidence collection platform for infrastructure and construction projects.

The company says the launch sets a new standard in terms of security and digital inspection.

Field data collection platform eviFile has been specifically developed to adhere to the principles set out by the Home Office in The Association of Chief Police Officers’ (ACPO) digital evidence guidelines.

The founders of the platform aim to create a new ‘gold standard’ for evidence collection for UK infrastructure and construction projects, whilst also expanding into Europe and the United States to achieve the same objective.

eviFile’s launch comes ahead of BusinessCloud’s LCR Construction Skills Summit on Thursday 15th November.

eviFile was developed over an 18-month period with the product first becoming commercially available in 2018.

It is already being used in the UK construction, infrastructure and utilities sectors by contractors to satisfy clients that work has been successfully completed to required standards and timescales, whilst simultaneously protecting against legal disputes.

The company also expects its platform to be of use for intermediaries working within those sectors, including lawyers and building, project and engineering consultancies.

eviFile currently employs six people and its entrepreneurial management team comprises managing director, Luke Allen, product director, Edward Williams and chief executive, Nick Halliday.

“We’ve launched eviFile to challenge the status quo and set a new standard in secure field data collection,” said Williams.

“Our platform meets and exceeds the levels of assurance and evidence major contractors are demanding. We also believe it to be the first in the world to adhere to ACPO’s digital evidence guidelines, creating a single source of truth throughout a whole construction project.

“eviFile has been built to allow its users to enhance efficiencies, protect brand reputation and avoid costly legal disputes. Its use will also contribute more widely to improved health and safety on projects and the data collected can be used to help refine construction methods and processes.

“Our ambition is for eviFile to become the globally recognised gold standard for digital evidence collection, used by major contractors and sub-contractors both in the UK and worldwide.

“We are targeting rapid growth and are looking forward to announcing our new client wins soon.”
