Strength in numbers key to GDPR compliance

The General Data Protection Regulation has been described as the most significant overhaul in data protection in a generation.

Statistics suggest that the majority of organisations are still not prepared despite the prospect of irreparable reputational damage and being fined €20m or four per cent of worldwide annual turnover if they do not comply.

“You’re not alone,” says Anna Dick, chief technology officer at recruitment marketplace Hiring Hub.

“There are lots of other businesses that are going through the same thing and especially as a small business there’s the potential to maybe learn from others as well.”

She adds: “If nothing else, it’s made people think differently about data. It’s put more of a personal and human slant on it. That’s very much how we’re looking at it.”
