BubbleStudent, the app-based student property marketplace, has exceeded its £400,000 target on crowdfunding website Seedrs.

Founded by Felix Henderson and Sol Wright in 2016, bubbleStudent was created to take the stress out of renting student property.

The start-up’s virtual property marketplace currently lists over 200,000 student rooms across 20 UK cities, and allows students to view rooms, schedule viewings and even sign a contract.

BubbleStudent has successfully raised over £430,000 from investors on Seedrs, with plans to use the money to fuel its growth across the UK and internationally.

“The student rental market has long been in need of a drastic change, and we’re committed to simplifying the entire process for students across the UK; from the first discussion to signing the contract,” said CEO and co-founder Felix Henderson.

“We’re thrilled with the level of investor engagement for our first funding campaign on Seedrs, and we will be using the funds to continue our expansion across the UK and beyond.”

In addition to simplifying the rental process for students, the platform also allows lettings agents and landlords to track real-time data on the student property market.

BubbleStudent is chaired by Rupert Hambro, co-founder of growth investment firm Hambro Perks.
