Legendary UK games developer Team17 has announced the launch of first-person shooter game Genesis Alpha One.

The company said its new video game will launch on 29 January 2019 and is available immediately for pre-order. The announcement was made at The Game Awards, the flagship awards ceremony for the gaming industry, held yesterday in Los Angeles.

The game will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and on PC exclusively via the recently launched Epic Games store.

The Epic Games store is a new digital distribution platform selling to PC gamers, which offers developers 88 per cent of revenues from games sales.

The game has been co-developed with German-based independent games developer Radiation Blue.

Team17 CEO Debbie Bestwick MBE said: "We are delighted today to announce the launch of Genesis Alpha One.

"The collaboration with Radiation Blue demonstrates our capabilities in partnering with international games developers to bring high quality games to market.

"We have had a relationship with Epic since 1991 and are very supportive of their new platform.

"We are therefore pleased to be launching the PC version exclusively on the Epic platform, which offers significant opportunities for both developers and gamers alike."

Team17 recently celebrated the launch of its 100th game after floating on the London Stock Exchange this summer.
